How Do I Reset My RISD Account Password
RISD has a "self-service" password service: password.risd.edu. RISD account passwords expire every 6 months. You will receive three warning notifications (10, 5, and 1 day) before your password expires.
Reset Password
- Visit password.risd.edu
- Enter your username (omit @risd.edu), type the captcha, and click Continue.

- Select a two-factor authentication (2FA) method (e.g., Email*, SMS, etc.) and click Continue.
*Note: If you selected Email as your 2FA and you did not receive the email with the secure link, check your SPAM and trash folders.
- Follow prompts to verify your identity.
- Enter a new password and confirm.

- Click "Reset Password".
You should receive a green message stating the password reset was successful.
