RISD's Wireless Networks


Eduroam
Eduroam is a secure, global Wi-Fi service that allows students, faculty, and staff from participating institutions to access the internet at other universities and organizations worldwide using their home institution's credentials. It provides a convenient and secure way to connect to Wi-Fi hotspots using your RISD email address and password (e.g., Brown University, Johnson & Wales).


RISD-MiscDevices
For miscellaneous wireless devices (wifi controlled lights, Alexa/Google, wireless printers, etc.)


RISD-Gaming

For gaming systems (Nintendo Switch, Xbox, Playstation, etc.)


RISD-Visitor

For visitors to the RISD Campus that do not have credentials for Eduroam.


RISD-WiFi

ITS recommends connecting to the Eduroam wireless network. RISD-WiFi will be discontinued in the near future.



Where is wireless located? 

Wireless can be found in all residential and academic buildings on campus.


What about non-RISD wireless devices? 

Installation of personal wireless devices anywhere on the RISD campus, including on-campus housing, is not permitted. Non-RISD wireless devices will be disabled.
