Using Workday, you can swap (change), add, drop or withdraw or classes.
Swap classes
Do not drop classes your department registered you for. This will prevent graduation.
You can swap classes in Workday up until the start of the semester. After that, you must use the add form in etrieve.
The swap function in Workday drops you from the class you don't want and adds you to the other class all at once. Before you begin, you'll need to know the name of the course you wish to add.
In the top left, click Menu, then Academics
-
Under Registration, click View My Class Schedule
Next to the course you wish to drop click Actions > Swap.
If you want to take an entirely different course instead, select New Course. If you just want to change to another time of the same course, choose New Section.
Select the new course or section. You can type in the name of a class and on your keyboard press enter. For example, Intro to Photography.
Click OK.
Add a Class
You may add a class up until the day before the semester begins, date published on the Academic Calendar. After that, you'll need to request to add using the add form in etrieve.
In the top left, click Menu, then Academics
In the Registration section, click Find Course Sections for Registration
Enter the Term and click OK
Click on the name of the course and view info about the class. If the class has a section labeled Eligibility be sure you meet the requirements to join the class.
Click Register for Course (not Add to Saved Schedule)
If you do not see Register for Course and instead see Troubleshoot, you are not eligible to take the class. Click Troubleshoot to see details.
Drop a Class
Do not drop classes your department registered you for. This will prevent graduation.
You may drop a class until the end of the drop period published on the Academic Calendar.
In the top left, click Menu, then Academics
-
Under Registration, click View My Class Schedule
Next to the course you wish to drop click Actions > Drop.
Select (check) Confirm and click OK.
Withdraw from class
After the drop period ends, if you wish to stop attending a class, you'll need to withdraw. This places a W on your transcript but doesn't impact your GPA. You can withdraw up until the withdrawal deadline published in the Academic Calendar. After that, you'll receive the grade you earned for the class.
If you're a first-year student or international student, Workday will route your request for approval.
In the top left, click Menu, then Academics
-
Under Registration, click View My Class Schedule
Next to the course you wish to withdraw from click Actions > Withdraw.
Select (check) Confirm Withdraw from Course and click OK.
