Print Smart - Centralized Printing Program

RISD Print Smart centrally manages and funds Xerox multifunction print/copy/scan/fax (MFD) devices and provides all service and maintenance for RISD campus Xerox MFDs and all networked LaserJet printers.

With RISD Print Smart, departments can expect consistent service levels and response times through a partnership with Connecticut Business Systems (CBS), a CT-based Xerox Corporation company exclusively handling all device service. CBS offers dedicated local technical support and guaranteed service response times.

How the RISD Print Smart Program Works:

Departments do not directly purchase toner or pay for MFD and networked LaserJet printer service. Instead, each department pays a competitive fee for each page printed or copied that covers all device service needs, including toner replacement (which will be shipped automatically when a device is running low.) Each RISD department will undergo a continuous, consultative print assessment to help determine the type of equipment and technology required to meet the evolving academic and operational needs of each respective department. CBS and RISD IT Services will meet with respective RISD department representatives and provide recommendations that ensure each department is outfitted with the appropriate print/copy output device(s).

In addition to making device management easier and less costly for departments, RISD Print Smart offers campus-wide efficiencies and reduces the college's impact on the environment.
