As of February 1, 2023, Zoom is requiring Chromebook users download the Progressive Web App (PWA) to use Zoom. 

At Zoom, we want to enable users to have a productive experience, regardless of which device they may be using. That’s why we built our Progressive Web App (PWA), which leverages web-based technology to deliver a native desktop experience.

Users may run the PWA within the browser by visiting pwa.zoom.us/wc. Keep in mind, a small download is also available, which will create an experience more similar to the desktop application and allow the PWA to auto-launch. 

Users can install this from the Google Play store (click the link or search ‘Zoom for Chrome PWA’ in the Play store) or by going to pwa.zoom.us/wc and clicking on the ‘install’ icon in the Chrome browser address bar.
