RISD Account, Cloud Storage, and Shared Files - Best Practices for Faculty & Staff
Your RISD account provides access to RISD Google Workspace for Education Apps (Gmail, Contacts, Calendar, Drive, Sites and Chat), and other institutionally licensed software and services (including but not limited to Zoom, Canvas, Adobe and other department specific software). Many services include cloud storage for documents, videos and other files, and file management is an ongoing process.
Here are a few best practices:

Keep personal files separate from RISD files

Utilize cloud storage provided with Zoom, Adobe, and Panopto as temporary storage.
Backing up/transfer data from various services

Pay attention to sharing and ownership of files
Who is the owner of the file? Do you need to retain the file after the student graduates or the staff member leaves RISD? Does your department have an account that can be the owner of the file?
