How do I get RISD VPN?

Do I need VPN to work from off-campus?
This would depend on the files or services you need to access. Not all RISD services require VPN to connect off-campus. Below is a quick chart to help you determine your VPN need. Not sure? Contact the IT Service Desk.

Follow the instructions to install and configure the program. After GlobalProtect is configured, you'll sign in with your RISD account username and password to establish the secure VPN connection to the RISD network.
Requirements
- Internet access from your remote location
- RISD username and password
- Computer that meets the minimum system requirements
Best Practices
- Test the VPN connection from your remote location before you need to use it!
- Disconnect the VPN connection when not in use.
- Make sure the GlobalProtect software is up-to-date
How to check your version of GlobalProtect
- Click the GlobalProtect icon
- Click the Menu icon
- Select Settings
- Click About and you'll see the version listed on the right side.
